With less than a week to go before Election Day in New Jersey, a new survey conducted for Stan Greenberg and James Carville's organization Democracy Corps shows Democratic Governor Jon Corzine slightly expanding his lead over Republican Chris Christie to 5 points. Corzine now garners 43 percent of the vote to Christie's 38 percent and independent Chris Daggett's 12 percent. A week ago Corzine led by 3 points. When Daggett voters are pushed to choose one of the two major party candidates, Corzine's lead holds steady at 5 points, 47 to 42 percent.

As the race for New Jersey governor enters the home stretch, a new survey conducted for Stan Greenberg and James Carville's organization Democracy Corps by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research finds the race stable with Democratic Governor Jon Corzine holding a 3-point lead over Republican Chris Christie, the same margin he enjoyed in our last survey two weeks ago. Corzine now garners 42 percent of the vote to Christie's 39 percent and independent Chris Daggett's 13 percent - all essentially unchanged from two weeks ago.

Olympia Snowe enjoys broad support in her home state, but she faces significant political problems if she opposes President Obama's health insurance reform. A Snowe vote against health insurance reform results in Mainers evenly divided on whether she should be re-elected, while support for Obama's plan produces 53 percent who want to re-elect Snowe compared to 38 percent who want someone new as U.S. Senator.

As the battle for New Jersey governor continues to heat up, a new survey conducted for Stan Greenberg and James Carville's organization Democracy Corps by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research finds that that race is now a dead heat with Republican Chris Christie at 40 percent, Democratic Governor Jon Corzine at 39 percent and independent Chris Daggett receiving 11 percent of the vote. Corzine had slowly but steadily narrowed the race since our first poll in early August, moving from a 5-point deficit to the current 1-point margin.

Coming out of Labor Day, Democratic Governor Jon Corzine and Republican challenger remain in a tight race for Governor, a new survey conducted for Stan Greenberg and James Carville's organization Democracy Corps by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research shows. Christie holds a three-point lead on Corzine, 41 to 38 percent, with independent Chris Daggett receiving 10 percent of the vote.
